Why Franchise and specifically why ACFN

As the Co Founder of this company and the owner of past ones I learned (sometimes the hard way) that the variables can be enormous and without someone “holding my hand” it could mean the detriment of my business.

I also learned that I needed a good, solid business plan and without it I was like a “ship without a rudder” sometimes “sailing fast” but not always in the right direction.

I can remember thinking that I could really use some unbiased and good advice.

Today, having experienced both business models it is clear to me that a franchise is a far superior one in terms of success rate and ease of operation.

Success rate: it is estimated that around 90% of all businesses fail within the first year while similar rate of franchises SUCCEED!! Now that alone should be a real incentive for you however just as important is the fact that everything has already been tested time and again. Many mistakes were already made and corrected and you are buying into a PROVEN system. No need to reinvent the wheel (as is the case with most new businesses). Returning recently from a Franchise trade show in Montreal I was struck by the variety of franchises available today. From pet clothing to special sandwich making - the ideas were endless but it became apparent to me that in most cases you were simply “buying” another job. In other words you had to work it full time to make a living which meant that to operate it you either do it yourself and have to quit what it is you are doing or have to pay someone else to do it for you (which in most cases eat greatly into your profits). Either way it required you to have enough funds to support yourself and the business until a time when it can pay you back.
